October 2009 The maple wears a gayer scarf, the field a scarlet gown. - Emily Dickinson Each fall brings to us in New Jersey a different painted landscape of colors. These deciduous trees follow seasonal changes in temperature and light, resting and replenishing themselves year after year. Valiantly the acorns are dropped by oaks in hopes that another generation of trees will grow. This fall the congregation is invited into another season of considering what it is we want to change or see growing at Bloomfield Presbyterian Church on the Green. About 50 persons completed a survey after worship the last Sunday in September that will provide some insights. But so will the gifts of your voice, your participation, and your leadership. What really matters to you is what you show up for and what you help to create. It is my hope that together we understand what matters to us, to this community, and to God as we plan our ministry path for 2010. In the meantime, attend to what nurtures your faith and invite others to be part of what nurtures our faith and serves others at the Church on the Green. You won’t do ministry that really matters until you define what matters. - Aubrey Malphurs Yours in the fellowship of Christ,
The Rev. Robert Foltz-Morrison
