Jasmine Vance, Bloomfield College Intern
	Jasmine is a Bloomfield College senior from Burlington, NJ who is interning with us during the fall 2009 semester. She is a Sociology major with a concentration in Human Services. Her internship goals include participating in activities of the Women’s Fellowship and exploring her sense of God’s call to her. After graduating from Bloomfield College, Jasmine plans to enter Philadelphia Biblical University to earn a degree in Christian Counseling. Her career goal is to open her own clinic counseling abused women and men. Her home church is the Alpha Baptist Church in Willingboro, NJ.
Jasmine recently walked with the team from Church on the Green in the Montclair CROP Walk and talked about her goals and life at Bloomfield College. She grew up in a military family, and says her mom always wanted her to be a nurse. She entered the nursing program at Bloomfield College in the fall of 2005, but later switched her major to sociology. It took a lot of perseverance, but she says her family now supports her in her decision. Her participation in Women's Fellowship activities include attending Bible Circle meetings and helping with the "Feed the World on the Green" program. She described campus life for many students as living in a "Bloomfield Bubble," without any contact with the local community. She suggested music as a shared interest between the campus and the town whose development could help to "break the bubble."
